Attorney Generals receive financial gain to fight clean energy reveals EPA

Big fossil fuel energy companies and Attorney Generals are said to be corroborating as noted in a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency, sent by the Attorney General Scott Pruitt. The letter is said to denote an unprecedented alliance between Mr. Pruitt and several Republican Attorney Generals with some of the nation’s big energy companies; an alliance whose main purpose is to hinder Obama’s regulatory agenda.

According to the investigation, Attorney Generals from at least a dozen states work with fossil fuel energy companies to fight federal regulations. At the same time, these energy corporations provide the Attorney Generals with a big amount of money that would fund their political career and campaigns, a sum amounting to $16 million in 2014 alone.

On another note, for the first time, Republicans will be the controlling majority with 27 Attorney Generals. In fact, several individual Attorney Generals have made certain that investigations close through corporate-friendly settlement.

What traditionally is the Attorney General’s role is now reversed, with these Attorney Generals forming a band together with energy companies, lobbyists, lawyers; all of whom are working against the Obama administration and their Clean Power Plan.

According to Mr. Pruitt, this move to go against the current administration is due to the fact that there is a constitutional crisis; believing that the country is veering toward a position that would put the country at risk.

Mr Pruitt’s motivations come under question with fossil fuel company influences

At the same time, several Attorney Generals who are questioning Mr. Pruitt’s current position say that his stand is quite clear as his motions are more geared towards the success of certain individuals like Harold Hamm, who is the billionaire CEO of Continental Resources, which is the biggest oil and gas drilling company.

The bottom line: to band the Attorney Generals together and ensure that power is not limited to a few, that is, to the Obama administration. Environmental protection, which is what the Obama administration has been working at pushing, is certainly going to be hampered and definitely obstructed with the move that the group of Mr. Pruitt is pushing for.

Several backers of Mr. Pruitt, who is currently the Chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association, led by Devon Energy, are hoping to increase the number of supporters and followers of Mr. Pruitt to ensure a fruitful collaboration and their agenda to be put to fruition.

Currently, with all of what Mr. Pruitt has been doing, the lines of his official role and his political advancement seem to be obscured. What’s more, because of his ‘leadership’ in all these, funds have more than skyrocketed, with the resulting funds going to media advertisements.

“Our President sees himself above the law,” Mr. Pruitt said. As yet another case has been filed against the Obama administration on the latest immigration policies that are being pursued. Pruitt believes that the actions taken by the US President is not going to benefit the country at all, especially in light of the environmental protection that the administration is strongly pursuing.
