This was one of the worst financial decisions we have made. Right from the start we had trouble. Delays in installation. Sending inexperienced technicians to install our unit. Then the inverter they promised to install was not available so they promised us another one of better quality. This was a Sunna 5000. More like a shit box. Faulty from day one.We like many others tried to contact them over this matter and never got a reply so we decided to go through the ombudsman. So much for their help. They rang us back weeks later informing us that they could not get through to them also. Our only hope now was to go further with it and take them to the tribunal. We collected all our information together and sent the paper work off only to receive it all back telling us we would have to go higher up as the unit cost $15,000 and we would have to pay more up front for them to investigate. Meanwhile we are out of pocket by thousands of dollars and are still paying for huge electricity bills. Now four years later we have finally found a decent installer/ repairer who has found the problem with our unit.The inverter has been faulty from day one only working to half its capacity. It didn't have two separate lines, (banks of solar panels to the inverter). They had wired it all on the one cable so the energy we were making was overloading the unit and shutting it down. The cables from each solar panel were laying on the roof, not clamped up. Given our home is a steel frame home, this was a major problem because if any of the cables were to short out it would make the house a live conductor of electricity. Surprise , surprise we have had it all repaired by a local contractor at a price of $3,150. Our advise is to go through your local trad-dies at least if something happens they are there to support you. We thought we had done the right thing by shopping around for months. And picked a company that has sold many units. And promised us excellent customer service. WHAT SERVICE. NO HELP WHATSOEVER. YOU SHOULD BE BLACKLISTED SO OTHER UNFORTUNATE HARD WORKING PEOPLE ARE NOT RIPPED OFF IN FUTURE LIKE US.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE. We keep getting phone calls from these people and they are using a call centre in India (or similar) I think. They call after 8.00pm at night and obviolusly don't know what "do not call register" is. They gave me incorrect information about rebates and who pays they don't know what they are talking about and they don't have a clue what state they are calling. Also found very interesting being transfered to one supervisor after another because the people with the English names can't speak or understand English.

I am trying to ring this solar megamart company for few months now.as the 3 number even i cant get through.ITS 1300727150 number thatrings but is on voice mail rest is all hopeless.tried to email but nothing working.Please if atall this company exist should have courtsey to call back to their customers.I would suggest every one to be careful with the companies that you sign or give your bank information.Not happy with the service hope less.

Agree with El Rob comment. we are in the same situation. Our inverter is dead after 8 months and company is not contactable. Would not recommend this company to anyone

Our inverter is dead after 21 months. Looks like we've blown our money. They seem to be not contactable. No response to messages left on their website. There are three 1300 numbers found on google (1300 991 147) their site (1300 727 150) and white pages (1300 239 276) and only one answers to say leave a message but no one gets back to us.

I just got my panels from Solar Megamart. I was very impressed with the entire process. They explained everything I was to expect and always answered all my questions no matter how silly they were. When I look at my meter and it's either barely moving or it's spinning in reverse I get all excited. I can't wait to see my first full electric bill. If anyone is ever considering panels, I highly recommend Solar Megamart.

I originally began ringing around and got sick of people not getting back to me. I then went through Solar Quotes. They put me in contact with Solar Megamart. The gentleman I dealt with had a quote to me within 24 hours of contact and the system has been installed within 4 weeks of my acceptance. They had stock here in Melbourne and only use quality material. They have taken care of all of the paperwork to get rebates and connection to the grid with the power company. I chose a 5 kilowatt system which not only eliminates my power bill but should pay for itself in about 5 years through the feed in tariffs available. A bigger outlay initially but in the mid term will benefit me and long term hopefully make me some money. I did get quotes from other companies and most others I received quotes from where going to take between 8 and 12 weeks and were on average $1500 to $3000 dearer for the same size systems.
