Queensland solar hot water industry takes yet another blow

The Newman Government yesterday announced yet another blow to the renewable energy industry – the closure if the solar hot water rebate.

The Queensland Government says this will save $10 million over an unspecified period. However, we believe the continued blows to the industry will far outweigh any anticipated savings. Australian manufacturers are already reeling from the closure of the federal rebate earlier this year and this announcement will inevitably lead to significant job losses in manufacturing, retailing and installing.

We also have to question how much longer the Queensland feed in tariff for solar power will remain so if you are considering installing solar, get your 3 solar quotes today by clicking here.
